| The Terfloth residence
September 27th we raised this small timber frame in St-Lazare, Quebec that sits within conventional stick-framed walls throughout the rest of the house. What made it special was the fact that all the hardwood timber was harvested from the client's 50 arpent forest, and was then hand hewn with axes to match the style of the old barn beams in the her previous home. Species were ash, maple, hickory, cherry and oak. |
